Nyssa and Travis had plans for a Washington wedding this upcoming summer. But they recently found out that Travis (who is in the Navy) is getting relocated down to Texas. They didn’t want to leave Washington without celebrating their wedding and exploring the beauty that the PNW has to offer. So they reached out to us for a last-minute winter elopement in Olympic National Park!
Olympic is one of the greenest places in the United States! Even in the winter. So we went out and explored a beautiful lake and rainforest on a moody winter day for their elopement. And it might not look like it, but it was raining for the first hour or two at the lake. We always come prepared with gear to keep our cameras dry, and usually, we’ll head into the trees to take advantage of the dry terrain. But with that rain comes the moody clouds and especially in the winter, a beautiful ombre effect of the snow lining the trees on the side of the lake. We’re always here to help our couples prepare for the weather, but you can check out our elopement gear guide for some suggestions on outdoor gear for your elopement day.
Their first look was adorable and so sweet next to the lake. And Travis was sure to start off their day in his uniform (which was incredibly dapper). These two relaxed so quickly with us and we felt like old friends exploring. It was so exciting to hear about all of the big moves in their life! We’re always so honored to be a part of such big moments in our couple’s lives. It’s never lost on us how important these moments are for you.
After their first look, Travis changed into his suit and we went on a short hike into the forest to find some classic PNW bridges. We always enjoy all our rainforest hikes and bridges around the Port Angeles area, so it was really fun getting to show them a brand new area of Washington that they hadn’t visited before.
So incredibly honored to send these two off to Texas after their winter elopement in Olympic with us!!
