I’m your tour guide for one of the most exciting days of your life!
I put together some helpful information to help you plan, get to know my process, and most importantly…get excited!
My editing style is earthy, vibrant, and true to color. I have a documentary style approach that allows me to be more laidback. We’ll spend a lot of time hiking, getting to know each other, and celebrating your love. My goal, as always, is to capture your day. But I also make sure to give clients space to enjoy the moment: whether that’s an epic sunset in Sedona, or hiking at sunrise in the Rockies.
How I can help plan your Elopement
After booking, I am here to help with the details leading up to your big day.
I’ll look into permits if your location requires one (permit fees ranging from $150-$300)
Help if you need a witness for your marriage license (great thing about Colorado is that it’s one of the few states that offer self-solemnizing elopements)
I send you a comprehensive questionnaire to help with a wedding day timeline (+ a backup plan if needed)
preparation is key
Spare headlamp? Hand warmers at sunrise? Walkie talkies? I’ve found a few items go a really long way in making an elopement & intimate wedding hike the best experience possible. I do my best to bring extra socks, ponchos, or anything else that will help us be prepared for varying weather conditions and longer hikes.
How many photos can I expect?
You can expect 50 - 70 photos per hour of coverage for any session. My photo turnaround time is 3-4 weeks. All edited, high resolution photos are sent to you via an online gallery where you can download and print them as you please.
do we hike for sessions?
You bet! Pretty much every session I shoot involves at least a short hike 1-3 miles if not farther. There’s always a way to find more accommodating hikes or viewpoints for family and elopement parties. However, I do usually sneak away with couples for a sunrise or sunset hike.
do you only work out west?
Nope! While I do mostly work in Western landscapes, I’m happy to work with couples in other parts of the US or overseas. Reach out if you have any specific questions or want to talk about your plans.
what about bad weather?
I shoot in a lot of locations/landscapes where weather is less predictable. Because of this, it’s very rare that I’m able to accommodate or promise next day availability. It’s best to come prepared and embrace it! I’ve shot in the rain in the fjords of Norway, and high up in the Rockies with heavy snowfall. No matter the weather, it’s going to be amazing and we’ll get great photos.
WHAT’S THE PROCESS?
PLAN & CHAT: When you reach out, you’ll receive a link to a free online planning guide, and access to set up a video chat or phone call with me. The chat is optional, but it’s a great way to talk about your day and make sure we’re a good fit! The guide, a video chat, and a few emails—and hopefully we’ve figured out any necessary (and exciting) details!
BOOK: I’ll send over a digital contract + invoice via email when you’re ready to book. Until then, I’ll be sure to let you if another inquiry comes in for your date + nearby dates. There is a flat $750 retainer for Elopements + Intimate Weddings. The remaining balance is due one week prior to your date. Adventure Sessions are paid in full. The contract is straightforward and easy to read. It helps set expectations for services & turnaround. If you have any questions while looking over it, just let me know.
QUESTIONNAIRE: 4-6 weeks prior to your date, you’ll receive an online questionnaire that better helps prepare for your big day. In return, I send over an “ideal” timeline + itinerary for best lighting, avoiding crowds, and hiking logistics. The timeline + itinerary is more of a helpful hand in planning out your day.
YOUR BIG DAY OR SESSION: Whether we meet at a visitor center, lodge, or trail head—it’s finally the day!
PHOTO DELIVERY: You will receive sneak peaks (usually3-5 photos) within 1 week of your session. While your final photos will be delivered 3-4 weeks after your session date via the same online gallery system, where you can download all of the high-resolution files, order prints, or give access to loved ones.
