I’m your tour guide for one of the most exciting days of your life!
I put together some helpful information to help you plan, get to know my process, and most importantly…get excited!
My editing style is earthy, vibrant, and true to color. I have a documentary style approach that allows me to be more laidback. We’ll spend a lot of time hiking, getting to know each other, and celebrating your love. My goal, as always, is to capture your day. But I also make sure to give clients space to enjoy the moment: whether that’s an epic sunset in Sedona, or hiking at sunrise in the Rockies.
How I can help plan your Elopement
After booking, I am here to help with the details leading up to your big day.
I’ll look into permits if your location requires one (permit fees ranging from $150-$300)
Help if you need a witness for your marriage license (great thing about Colorado is that it’s one of the few states that offer self-solemnizing elopements)
I send you a comprehensive questionnaire to help with a wedding day timeline (+ a backup plan if needed)
preparation is key
Spare headlamp? Hand warmers at sunrise? Walkie talkies? I’ve found a few items go a really long way in making an elopement & intimate wedding hike the best experience possible. I do my best to bring extra socks, ponchos, or anything else that will help us be prepared for varying weather conditions and longer hikes.
Top 3 Questions:
How many photos can I expect?
You can expect 60 - 80 photos per hour of coverage for any session. My photo turnaround time is 2 weeks. All edited, high resolution photos are sent to you via an online gallery where you can download and print them as you please.
Beyond coverage, I also provide location guidance. I’ll send you a comprehensive questionnaire that helps better understand your plans. And in turn, I’ll send you an “ideal” timeline for best lighting, avoiding crowds, and hiking logistics.
WHAT’S THE PROCESS?
I’LL EMAIL YOU SOON: I’ll email you as soon as I can. Usually I respond within 1-3 business days depending on the time of year. I’m busiest with bookings during the late fall and winter. And busiest with sessions during Spring & Fall.
SOLIDIFY PLANS: Some clients have their adventurous elopement + wedding all planned out. Others look to me for guidance in choosing a location, or lining up their plans with my travel schedule. Either way, we need to figure out when & where.
LET’S CHAT: Let’s set up a video chat and talk about things! This can be at any stage in the process. Even just a few weeks before your elopement or wedding. Some couples like to chat before they book, while others simply don’t have the time until much later. Really, it’s just a simple video chat to get to know you better so that we’re not strangers when we first meet!
BOOK: Let me know when you’re ready to book, and I’ll send over a digital contract + invoice. There is a flat $750 retainer for Weddings & Elopements. Adventure Sessions require a 50% retainer.. The remaining balance is due one week prior to your date. If you prefer installment plans, please let me know in advance. The contract is straightforward and easy to read. It helps set expectations for services & turnaround. If you have any questions while looking over it, just send over an email. I’m always happy to answer any questions!
QUESTIONNAIRE: 4-6 weeks prior to your date, you’ll receive an online questionnaire that better helps prepare for your big day. In return, I send over an “ideal” timeline + itinerary for best lighting, avoiding crowds, and hiking logistics. The timeline + itinerary is more of a helpful hand in planning out your day.
YOUR BIG DAY OR SESSION: Whether we meet at a visitor center, lodge, or trail head—it’s finally the day!
SNEAK PEAKS: You’ll receive high-resolution sneak peaks of 8-10 images via my online gallery system. That way you can quickly share with friends + family on social media. You can also use the high res sneak peaks for save the dates if you need to print them super quick!
PHOTO DELIVERY: Your photos will be delivered 2 weeks after your session date via the same online gallery system. You can share the link with friends & family, too. You can order prints directly through the online gallery, or use our contract as a personal print release for a local print company. I like the company my gallery uses a lot when it comes to photo lab prints. However, if you’re looking for home decor style prints—I love Artifact Uprising.
