Emily and Mike are locals to Seattle and in true elopement fashion decided to elope just 5 or 6 weeks after reaching out to us! We were so happy we had a summer date open and we absolutely love when couples are open to a spontaneous elopement adventure! Emily had her heart set on hiking up to Artist Point in the North Cascades for sunset, and despite the light smoke we had from nearby fires, we had an amazing time and got such a beautiful sunset.
We explored a nearby secluded area for their actual vows to keep things more intimate. It was such beautiful lighting and the lake down below us was incredibly blue. There were lots of tears and laughs, and Emily and Mike opened up and let us see their goofy side!
After their vows, Emily and Mike changed into their second outfits to pay homage to Emily’s heritage. The colors of their wedding attire were so stunning and vibrant against the greens! We love when our couples embrace their cultural heritage and incorporate it into their elopement! It’s a unique part of you and your relationship, and we are incredibly honored to document cultural traditions for our couples!
These two kicked butt on our short but steep hike up to Artist Point. We were amazed at how quickly we hiked up there. It gave us some extra time to watch the sun start to set behind the mountain ridge across from us. While the views were stunning the whole way up, Emily and Mike were absolutely floored when they finally got to see the mountains (and Mt. Baker) up close! We love getting to share these amazing places with our couples for the first time. It just really adds to the excitement and making special memories together.
We really loved Emily and Mike’s elopement day. They were just giggling and being themselves the whole time. We’re thankful they trusted us with their sunset elopement and had an amazing time hiking with them in one of our favorite places! So excited to share their photos!
