Grace and Jared are a super sweet and intentional couple that we had the honor of documenting their intimate elopement in Yosemite National Park. They really wanted their day to be chill, relaxed, and go with the flow. And since they were bringing family, they also hired Tapestry Event Co (Kate is absolutely amazing). Having Kate there to manage logistics and guide their family meant we were able to keep Grace and Jared focused on each other and enjoying Yosemite. It was definitely helpful having her tag along with us!
We went before sunrise to their stunning A-frame cabin near Oakhurst, California where Grace was getting ready. Grace and Jared decided to have a private vow exchange at sunrise to start their elopement day. It’s very common for our couples to exchange vows early in the day, so they can spend the rest of the day celebrating without any vow jitters. Both Grace and Jared’s moms were super excited and helped Grace get ready. It was super special that they got to have some time together before meeting Jared at sunrise!
They drove to Tunnel View, one of the most stunning views in Yosemite, for their first look and private vows. It was a perfectly clear day in February (not always a guarantee anywhere in the mountains), and it was so magical watching the sunrise alpenglow change throughout the morning hours. When Jared saw Grace for the first time, he hopped up in down with joy. It was such a cute and emotional moment for both of them.
After their ceremony and time exploring with us, we headed down to Yosemite Valley to meet up with family. Before their official ceremony, Grace had a first look with her father and it was so special seeing him get teary-eyed when he saw her. These two really were intentional about making sure they had private moments with their loved ones. It was really beautiful to slow them down and let everyone cherish Grace and Jared’s relationship.
After their ceremony, Grace’s Dad gave a very heartfelt speech about their journey together. And then they had their first dance with their parents, their first dance together, and sealed their marriage with a fruit roll-up (one of their inside jokes)! These two were so fun and full of energy. We love seeing our couples get super excited when they finally get to marry their special person and celebrate!
We continued taking photos in the snowy valley before exploring the beautiful Yosemite Falls in the afternoon. Since we all woke up for sunrise, we also decided to bust out the Jetboil and make some afternoon coffee! We cannot thank Grace and Jared enough for welcoming us into their lives and allowing us to be their guides while exploring Yosemite National Park!
