Seattle Intimate Wedding

Kate and Chris are two very special people we were lucky enough to meet last year for their adventure engagement session with us! They took us out on their trusty canoe and we went camping at a beautiful lake here in Central Washington. While we were out there, they worked on their vows by the lake in preparation for their small intimate wedding the following summer. And we are so happy these two were finally able to get married this summer!

They started with a trip to their local coffee shop and doggie snuggles on their back patio. It was a great way to start their day by being relaxed and spending some quality time together. In the late morning, family started to arrive and prepare the backyard for their reception later that evening. Their family was so fun and happy to be there celebrating Kate and Chris. The love in their family clearly showed throughout the whole day. It was really special to witness.

After they both get dressed, Kate did a first look with her parents in the backyard. Her Dad was teary-eyed and it was so sweet to see everyone’s reactions. We then headed out on a short adventure to a beautiful nearby state park for their ceremony. It was a short hike in the forest before we arrived at their beautiful ceremony site, which already had benches for everyone. It was such a magical spot in the forest surrounded by greenery and ferns. It was literally a fairytale of a wedding ceremony.

Kate and Chris chose to celebrate their Celtic heritage and did a Celtic handfasting ceremony with Kate’s brother leading the ceremony. Their vows were so sweet and vulnerable. It was really beautiful seeing them open to each other and share that experience with their closest loved ones. After everyone was done crying and they had their first kiss, we explored the nearby trails for more photos before returning for their backyard reception.

Kate has an amazing eye for style and wanted to decorate for their reception herself. She spent a lot of time thrifting tables, chairs, and even the candleholders for their reception. We love when couples can bring their own talent/passion to their wedding day to make it that much more special. We felt right at home with their family and enjoyed sitting down for dinner with them to enjoy an amazing meal and some delicious wine! We cannot thank these two enough for allowing us into their lives and sharing their story with us. We felt so comfortable and so welcomed by their family. It was an absolute joy getting to capture such a precious day.
