Ashley and Graham came out to Ruby Beach in Olympic National Park for their engagement session with us! And since we live in Port Angeles, Olympic National Park is basically our backyard! So we were stoked for them to fly out to the Pacific-Northwest and explore the rugged coast. Getting out to Ruby Beach is definitely a drive, but it is so beautiful and you can always stop in Forks, Washington for a coffee pick-me-up on the way to or from the beach! That’s what we like to do!
This was already a special trip for these two since they got engaged, but this was also the first time seeing the Pacific Ocean!! How cool is that? We love being able to share these grand places with our couples for the first time. We think your engagement session also deserves to be a memorable weekend getaway immersing yourself in nature. We recommend making a weekend trip out of your engagement session: stay in an Airbnb, explore a new small coastal town, make new memories together!
Exploring Ruby Beach
Ruby Beach and nearby Kalaloch Beach are great places to explore and see vast beaches in a more remote part of Washington. If you can plan your engagement session or weekend getaway to Ruby Beach around low tide, you’ll be able to see tidepools and access more parts of the beach. There are so many little coves and areas to explore! It’s always important to know the tides so you don’t get trapped in a cove! Even though Ruby Beach is really popular (for good reason), it’s easy enough to hike away from other people at low tide and find your own place to enjoy the view.
