Mt Rainier Sunrise Summer Elopement

Cassie and Jon flew all the way from Pennsylvania to elope with me in Mt. Rainer National Park! Every winter Jon goes skiing in some far-off destination with his friends. And he was inspired by a trip to Crystal Mountain Resort to want to share the epic beauty of Mt. Rainier for their wedding day! I always love when couples get to explore a favorite place (especially getting to see it in a different season). It’s always such a drastic change in scenery.

Cassie and Jon got dressed in the parking lot, took a short hike out to this beautiful vista, and had their first look together as the whole landscape started to fill with beautiful morning light. It was a quiet, warm morning with a soft pink alpenglow lighting up Mt. Rainier in front of us. It was amazing watching the lighting change around them during their vows. They were so sweet on each other.

After their vows and taking more photos with Mt. Rainier in the distance, we walked further along the trail for their first dance. The sun came up over the trees as they danced and laughed while being silly together. We finished our time out on the trail with some champagne before the bugs started to swarm us! But we had a lot of fun chatting and enjoying the views before the bugs found us! LNT: Do not pop actual champagne and spray it everywhere. You can use sparkling water instead if you want the “popping the champagne” photo 🙂

To finish their morning, we drove down to Packwood for some coffee and treats at the Mountain Goat Coffee Roaster & Bakery. It’s one of my favorite places to grab coffee in Rainier (although there isn’t a whole lot else in Packwood :P).

Mt. Rainier Permit Update: You are only allowed to take photos for up to 3 hours on the one trail you are approved for your permit. It is very competitive so apply early and be flexible.
