Jordan and Jon had looked at many different locations for their mountain wedding before finding the Grand Tetons. And of course, the Grand Tetons is one of our favorite places on earth (we used to live together within the park boundaries)! We’re always happy to share this incredible place with our couples and explore some of our favorite trails together. Especially when we have a whole wedding weekend to do it!
These two knew that a big wedding or eloping alone wasn’t a good fit for them. They were so close to their friends and family, but also knew they wanted to go on an adventure. So they decided on a mountain wedding weekend with us in Grand Teton National Park. We spent one day hiking at sunrise, horseback riding, and stargazing to take in the beauty of the park. While having their official wedding ceremony in the park with friends and family the following day. Not to mention, they had a beautiful reception to cap off their celebrations at the Bentwood Inn. By splitting it into two days, they managed to get the full experience without ever feeling in a rush. They really got to take in every precious moment together, and we’re so happy they found an intentional way to celebrate!
Starting at sunrise, they had a beautiful first look at one of the amazing views along Outer Park Road. This allowed them to take in the mountain range from a distance before we drove into the park to hike up to a beautiful lake. We had never seen such a crystal clear morning at the lake. The water was completely still and reflected almost every detail of the mountains behind them. It was a perfect moment without anyone else around for them to exchange their private vows. There were many tears and giggles shared before they were ready to open up some bubbly and start the celebrations!
After exploring around the lake in the early morning, we headed back toward town to go horseback riding. Jordan and Jon really made a point to have the full Teton experience by incorporating different activities into their wedding weekend and their trip. We were incredibly honored to tag along for the ride up from the ranch with their friends to see sweeping views out over Jackson Hole and the Teton Range. It was easily one of our favorite elopement adventures we’ve done!
After their horseback riding, they went back to meet friends and family for a small reception dinner. They had local musicians (who were incredible), amazing food, and even stargazing! After a fun evening celebrating and having a few speeches, Jordan and Jon stepped out by themselves to have a private moment stargazing before others could join in. The stargazing guide, by pure chance, was operating in Jackson Hole for just one summer before returning to his normal location (Uluru in Australia). Nobody knew that he wasn’t a local until we started chatting with him! It was such a magical experience, and we’re happy that he was around to guide us. We have never seen the surface of the moon in such vivid detail before. We all felt completely transported into space!
