Not every elopement day has to be adventure-packed

Not every elopement day has to be adventure-packed and full of epic hiking. You can rent out a dope cabin in the woods, jump in the hot tub, and have a chill day exploring the forest.

We love hiking and so do most of our couples. But that doesn't mean your elopement day has to be intense or epic just for the sake of it :)

It's important to figure out how you want your elopement day to "feel" and make your plans based on that. For some couples, doing a big hike brings out a super positive happy energy. For other couples, relaxing and slowing down brings more calm and intentional energy.

Reflect back on your favorite adventures together and what experiences brought you the most joy. Did those days have lots of hiking? Or did you have time to slow down and be present?

There's no wrong answer for your elopement day. Just thought we'd share!

It's really hard to explain to couples that their elopement day will already be filled with lots of special moments together--without even adding in extra details or ideas. We generally recommend having just one or two things "extra" to do on your day.

It's nice to do something meaningful like read letters, have a picnic with your favorite things, or even do something more traditional like a first dance. But if you try to do all of the activities or ideas you've seen, you'll end up focusing more on your "to do" list than on being present in the moment.

So keep it simple, slow down, and enjoy the moment <3

We spend so much time outdoors around sunrise and sunset with our couples. And sometimes when we look back at our photos, we can clearly remember just how "quiet" it was at that moment.

It might mean a super early wake-up call or having dinner at an odd time. But for us, it's a special time of day when things are quieter, our couples have more intimacy, and we're able to make a moment alone (like this photo) extra special.

Candid moments (and photos) are easily the most important part of our job.

While we post a lot of sweeping and epic photos on Instagram, the most important photos we take are the ones where we capture our couples being themselves. Whether it's the laugh their partner makes when they tell a bad joke, the way they hold hands, or even more serious moments when you have time to slow down together.

We have lots of precious moments from the past few weeks we're excited to share throughout the rest of summer!

Truth be told, you don't have to spend your whole

Truth be told, you don't have to spend your whole elopement day with us in your wedding clothes. More and more of our couples are opting to spend time wearing hiking clothes, casual campy clothes, or just a different outfit they like!

We really love capturing our couples for who they are--and not just some prescribed idea of what a wedding day should look like. So just a friendly reminder to throw on a puffy jacket if its cold, change into a more comfortable outfit if you want, and just do your own thing!
