We’re here to create your dream wedding day

Why We Shoot Elopements & intimate weddings

We’ve photographed many traditional weddings in the Midwest before moving to the mountains. Over the years, we realized that something was just...missing. We want couples to have a real experience--to have a story worth telling. A story about the 14er they climbed, or when they saw Half Dome at sunrise for the first time. It’s unbelievably fulfilling to help guide and curate elopements and adventurous weddings.

The experience is more intimate for the couple—but it’s also more intimate for us. We play a much larger role in elopements and intimate weddings than we did years ago. Couples rely on us and our experience to really make the most out of a National Park/beautiful landscape. The places we work have had a tremendous impact on our life. We love getting to share that with our couples.

Half Dome Summit Elopement

Jaclyn, of More Van Anything, was our photographer for our very intimate adventure elopement on top of Half Dome. Our biggest challenge for our elopement was finding a photographer who had an artistic eye that matched well with who we are as a couple and someone we could spend 12+ hours on a hike with and get along. We interviewed over 7 different photographers for our adventure and all of them had the stamina, strength, and technical skill to capture our event. In the end, we hired More Van Anything. The thing that stood out with More Van Anything is the fact that you really felt like Jaclyn listened and cared. She was genuinely interested in us as couple and I felt always at ease when I talked to her several times on the phone. From our interactions, I knew she was someone I could trust to capture our adventure.

The ease I felt during our phone conversations carried into our in-person meeting. That ease translated into photos where everyone looked so comfortable and natural. Jaclyn caught so many candid and special moments between the members of our small hiking group. And she captured so many wonderful shots of me and my now husband - both candid and posed. Honestly...I was left speechless when I opened up the final gallery. The photos really captured the joy, love, and adventure of the entire day.

Not only is she a wonderful photographer, she is a wonderful hiking group member. She was a cheerleader and supportive member of our group. She got along so well with all the different personalities in our small group. When I was overwhelmed by the heights of the Sub Dome and Cables, she was there to help me push past those feelings. I will forever be grateful to Jaclyn for helping me complete this bucket list hike and for getting me to where I wanted to get married - on top of Half Dome (and not on top of the Sub Dome).

If you are on the fence about hiring More Van Anything for your intimate adventure wedding/elopement, I would highly recommend that you think about whether or not the photographer you are considering is someone you would enjoy spending the whole day with. Will they make you feel comfortable? And do you trust the photographer to capture the essence of who you and your partner are? For me, Jaclyn was all those things and more.

Jaclyn - Elopement & Wedding Photographer

Hi There! I’m JACLYN.

I absolutely love being on the road exploring and hiking in new places. I feel most at home in the mountains, but you’ll find me traveling all over the US and overseas. My most adventurous hike (and elopement) was summiting Half Dome in Yosemite National Park. My happy places are Lake McDonald in Glacier National Park and Bacalar, Mexico (where Ryan proposed to me).

Ryan in Van - Elopement & Wedding Photographer

Hey! I’m RYAN.

Before falling madly in love with Jaclyn and starting More Van Anything, I lived in Spain and flew around the world on 13 one-way flights. I love being outside of my comfort zone exploring new trails or new countries. My most adventurous hike was a 50+ mile overnight solo-hike over the Pyrenees Mountains in France/Spain. My happy places are Sopelana Beach in Bilbao, Spain and Sedona, Arizona.

As a couple, we’ve lived in 5 states, and even within a National Park (Grand Teton National Park). We’re both vegetarians, minimalists, and we both have really meaningful tattoos. We spent 2018 living and traveling in our van Moonbeam to explore more of the West. We currently live in Colorado exploring the Rocky Mountains and working towards our future business goals. While we spent most of our time hiking, we also enjoy snuggling up to our favorite shows and working on personal projects. We’ll be exploring Europe this winter, but we’re also excited about planning a trip and exploring South America next!
